Volunteers from a cancer charity were presented with £1,500 following this year’s annual Chipping Steam Fair in Citheroe.

The annual event took place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May, where members of Rosemere Cancer Foundation hosted a stall.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s fundraising manager, Susan Swire, said: “We are extremely grateful to have been given such a generous award by Chipping Steam Fair’s organising committee.

“The committee has supported us for some time by both inviting us to attend the fair and sharing its profits with us.

"We are one of a number of local charities to benefit from the fair, which is a great family day out.

"Over this May’s fair weekend, our games stall raised £562.01.

"Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who played one of the stall’s games or had a go on its tombola.”
