Police are appealing for information after two men were seriously injured during a suspected robbery in Atherton.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were called following an incident on Millers Lane at around 2.15pm on Thursday, October 1.

It is believed two men, aged 18 and 20, had their e-bikes taken from them by a group.

The 20-year-old suffered a serious injury which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The 18-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital.

No arrests have been made.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information that could assist their investigation, to come forward as they work to establish the full circumstances.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time of the incident.

Detective Inspector Kathryn Tyldesley, from GMP's Wigan district, said: "We are still piecing together the exact timeline of events to determine what occurred.

"Ultimately, two men have suffered serious injuries, and we are doing all we can to establish the facts and ensure all appropriate actions are taken.

"If anyone has any information, I would urge them to come forward, as your assistance could greatly benefit our ongoing work."
