Sky TV users are going to be getting brand-new free upgrades that are set to make watching shows a lot easier.

The updates are currently being tested and should be arriving on Sky Glass TVs and Sky Stream boxes in the coming months.

The changes are set to make it easier to use Sky’s interface and improve the voice search.

Here are five of the updates Sky users can look forward to.

Five changes coming to Sky TVs

New menu bar

The Sky Glass and Sky Stream home screens are set to get a brand-new menu bar with easy access to features that viewers use frequently.

Some of the options will include Home, TV Guide, Sport, My Library, and My Account.

It will also have a Recents section that will take you back to any apps and channels you have recently used.

Live TV button

The upgrades should make getting to live TV much easier with new software taking you to live TV with one button press.

The TV Guide will also be getting a new calendar button making it easy to see what is coming up in the week.

Dedicated sports section

Sky Glass and Sky Stream will be getting its own Sport section making it easier to get to Sky’s sports channels and on-demand sports content.

You can also add which teams are your favourite to get tailored content.

Sky Stream and Glass to get recordings

Users will be able to record individual programmes or series and then delete them after they have been watched.

You can also just record a single football match without your system getting clogged with other sports content.

Sky is set to offer around 1,000 hours of storage for recordings.

Improved Sky voice search

Users will be getting Smart Voice, an improved version of its voice search.

A glowing ball will appear on your TV screen to show that Sky is working on your question and will be able to handle follow-up questions too.

The improved system will be able to produce better results and deal with more complicated requests from viewers.
