Fire crews tackle Accrington building blaze for three hours

Fire crews spent three hours tackling a blaze in Accrington on Saturday (October 3). 

A fire broke out at a building on Blackburn Road at around 9pm.

Three fire engines from Hyndburn and Blackburn attended the scene.

Crews remained at the scene for three hours and 15 minutes.

A Lancashire Fire and Resuce spokesperson said: "At 9.02pm on 3 October 2026, three fire engines from Hyndburn and Blackburn attended a building fire on Blackburn Road, Accrington.

"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours and 15 minutes."
