Police were called to Blackburn town centre on Monday (September 28) to reports of youths setting off fireworks.

Officers were called to Cathedral Square at around 6.15pm after reports that a group of young males had been setting off fireworks in the area.

Police said reports of assault and criminal damage were also received and that enquiries into those offences are ongoing.

The group was dispersed when officers attended.

A police spokesperson said: "We know that anti-social behaviour in our communities causes concern and we urge that any anti-social behaviour is reported to us or your local council."

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 1215 of September 28.
