A man began contacting his ex-partner within hours of being released on court bail despite being ordered not to have any contact with her, magistrates heard.
The court heard the bail conditions imposed hours earlier prohibited Dominic O'Brien from having any contact with the victim.
O'Brien, 29, of Northcliffe, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to assault, stalking and criminal damage. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 30 days rehabilitation activity requirement and 100 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 victim surcharge and made subject to a restraining order for six months which prohibits any contact with the victim.
Bilal Saeed, prosecuting, said the stalking charge covered a three-week period during which O'Brien had repeatedly attended at his ex-partner's address despite her making it clear she didn't want him there.
On one occasion he damaged a window and on another pushed her while she was holding their eight-month-old child.
"On one occasion he entered her house and took her phone so he could check who she had been in contact with," said Mr Saeed. "The messages that started at 5.50pm on the day he was released on court bail continued until 5am."

Bill Rawstron, defending, said his client had been in a desperately low mood and made some incorrect decisions.
"It doesn't appear there were any threats of violence made to this lady," said Mr Rawstron. "He wanted to try and arrange to see his child."
