Morecambe mum-of-22 Sue Radford has thanked fans for their support after her weight-loss journey featured in the latest episode of Channel 5’s 22 Kids & Counting.
The Radford family star shared a side-by-side comparison photograph on social media showing her transformation over the past year and said she was overwhelmed by the reaction from viewers.
Posting on Facebook, Sue wrote: “I just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments and messages from last night’s episode."
“It’s hard to believe the picture on the right was from last April but it just shows if you work hard and are determined to lose the weight, you will do it."
“I feel so much more confident, healthy and just better in myself so it’s been worth it.”
Sue added that she was pleased her journey had encouraged others to make positive changes in their own lives, writing: “I’m also so glad that my journey has inspired lots of you to do the same, so let’s support each other and not bring others down.”
The latest episode of the hit Channel 5 series focused on Sue’s efforts to improve her health after raising 22 children, with the Morecambe mum revealing how she had changed her eating habits and approach to exercise.
Many viewers took to social media to praise Sue’s honesty and share their own experiences of weight loss and fitness.
One fan wrote: “It’s funny that pic of you in your black gym wear and seeing the change in your shape got me to the gym. Post-menopausal and slowly weight was creeping on. I didn’t lose much weight but the inches dropped off, I upped my protein and stopped all the sugary snacks.”
Another supporter praised her resilience in dealing with online criticism, saying: “I think that having the family behind you and doing the middle finger to all the haters who hide behind fake names is far braver than any of them horrid people.”
A third viewer referenced a message displayed on one of Sue’s T-shirts during the programme and said: “People shouldn’t judge others, so well done you and you look absolutely amazing and stunning.”
Others praised Sue for being open about her health journey while also defending her against speculation over how she lost weight.

One commenter wrote: “I am not saying Sue has used weight loss jabs because I don’t know or care how she has done it. It is up to her or anyone else for that matter, how they do it. Nobody else’s business. She looks good no matter and feels healthier. Hats off to her, wish I had the willpower.”
The episode also explored the downside of living life in the public eye, with Sue speaking about the criticism and speculation she has faced online despite viewing her weight loss as a significant personal achievement.
The Radfords, who live in Morecambe, have become one of Lancashire’s best-known families through their long-running Channel 5 series, which documents life in Britain’s largest family.
