A Burnley woman has received a suspended prison sentence after admitting animal welfare offences involving three cats.
Karen Fort, 58, of Sandpiper Square, Burnley, pleaded guilty at Burnley Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard she failed to investigate and address weight loss and poor body condition suffered by a black and white cat named Minx between March 13 and March 29, 2025.

She admitted failing to provide adequate food or water to another black and white cat named Midnight and a grey cat named Loopy Lou between March 21 and March 29.
Fort was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.
She must also pay £600 costs and a £154 surcharge.
Fort was disqualified for life from owning, keeping, transporting or controlling animals. She cannot apply to end the order for five years.
