It was once one of the most popular Indian restaurants in Bolton but in 2014, The Green Bengal Restaurant in Bromley Cross was being demolished.

It had opened seven years previously having formerly been the Volunteer pub for many years.

The demolition came as the site’s owners appealed to the government over their bid for a new Sainsbury’s to be built in its place after the council rejected a plan for a supermarket and other shop units
