People looking to challenge themselves next year are being encouraged to lace up their running shoes or prepare to get muddy while raising money for a Colne charity.
Colne Citadel has secured charity places in the upcoming Manchester Marathon and Tough Mudder events and is calling on local people to sign up and fundraise.
The charity hopes participants will use the events as an opportunity to support its work tackling loneliness, improving wellbeing and providing support services for people across the community.
Funds raised will help Colne Citadel continue offering a warm and welcoming space, free unlimited counselling, activities and groups, and services designed to help people feel connected and supported.
The organisation says every donation makes a difference and helps ensure local people can access support when they need it most.
Hayley Murphy, manager at Colne Citadel, said: "Whether you're an experienced runner, someone looking to push yourself out of your comfort zone, or simply fancy taking on something incredible, this could be your chance to do something amazing for yourself and for Colne Citadel.
"Every pound raised helps us continue offering a place where people feel welcome, supported and less alone."

The charity said money raised through the challenges could help fund its free counselling service, community activities and groups that bring people together.
Hayley added: "You could be helping someone who feels isolated find friendship, someone struggling find support, our free unlimited counselling service or simply ensuring that there is always a place where someone can pop in for a brew and a chat."
The Manchester Marathon is one of Europe's largest marathons and attracts tens of thousands of runners each year, while Tough Mudder sees participants take on obstacle courses featuring mud, climbing challenges and endurance tests.
The charity says places are available now through its fundraising partnership with Run for Charity, with supporters invited to walk, run, climb, crawl or take on whatever challenge suits them best.
Hayley said: "If you'd like to run, climb, crawl, get muddy, or simply challenge yourself while supporting a local charity, we'd love to have you on our team."
Anyone interested in taking part can find out more and register through Run for Charity.
