Crowds gathered to celebrate classic vehicles at this year’s Great Harwood Transport Weekend.

Held earlier this month at the Great Harwood Showground, the event drew visitors of all ages to explore a display spanning cars, trucks, buses and more.

Organised by the Town & District Transport Trust (TDTT), the weekend offered enthusiasts an opportunity to meet, share stories and admire the craftsmanship behind the vehicles.

Sarah Smith, MP for Hyndburn and Haslingden, said: "It was great to attend the Great Harwood Transport Weekend and see so many people coming together to share their passion for transport.

"The variety of vehicles on display was amazing, and you could see just how much work and enthusiasm had gone into bringing everything together for the weekend."

Among the exhibitors was Cranberry Coaches, displaying a selection of vehicles from its fleet, including a new addition offering enhanced accessibility for wheelchair users.

Cllr Noordad Aziz, Mayor of Hyndburn, said: "I really enjoyed learning more about the wheelchair accessibility available on the Cranberry Coaches vehicle.

"It was fantastic to see how much thought has gone into making coach travel more accessible and inclusive."

The event also included an awards ceremony.

Martyn Rogers secured third place in the Best Light Transport and Classic category with his 1936 Morris 8, while Christine and Peter from Cranberry Coaches won Best Commercial and Passenger Transport.

Stuart Barrett, from Heywood, took home the prestigious Best in Show title for his ERF EC11 Olympic.

Visitors enjoyed more than just the vehicles, with food and drink stalls, a bar and a variety of other attractions available throughout the weekend.

Free bus rides to and from the showground added to the transport-themed experience.

The event took place on September 5 and 6.
