Face of man who breached restraining order of Clitheroe ex revealed

Jason Whiteoak, of West Marton, North Yorkshire, was jailed at Preston Crown Court last month after admitting a breach of the order on June 21.

Police have now released the mugshot of Whiteoak, 55.

The victim, from Clitheroe, received four phone calls in quick succession from a number she recognised as belonging to Whiteoak. She did not answer any of the calls.

A victim personal statement outlined the continuing impact his offending had had on her life, describing ongoing fear, distress and trauma.

When arrested, Whiteoak admitted making the calls. He told police he had contacted his ex-wife because two of his sisters had died and he wanted somebody to talk to. He said he had forgotten about the restraining order.

The judge acknowledged Whiteoak had complied with elements of that order, including unpaid work and rehabilitation requirements, and accepted the personal difficulties he had faced following the deaths of his sisters.

However, he reoffended little more than two months after appearing before a judge and being warned that any further offending would likely lead to the suspended sentence being activated.

Addressing Whiteoak, the judge said: "Your continued conduct is having a very significant effect on someone you once loved."

Whiteoak was sentenced to 44 weeks in prison.
