A charity has been awarded funding to support people facing financial hardship and crisis.

Community Solutions North West has received £45,000 from Hyndburn Council through the UK Government-funded Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).

The funding will help the charity continue providing frontline services to those in need, offering person-centred support and practical assistance.

Chris Emmerson, chief operating officer at Community Solutions North West, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Hyndburn Borough Council and the UK Government for recognising the importance of our work.

"Every day we see people struggling with the rising cost of living, unexpected financial pressures, and personal crises.

"This funding allows us to continue providing practical support that helps individuals and families overcome immediate challenges while building the resilience to move forward with confidence."

The charity delivers a wide range of services across the borough, including wellbeing support, mentoring, volunteering opportunities, financial resilience advice, and community programmes aimed at reducing isolation and improving quality of life.

The funding will enable Community Solutions North West to deliver the programme outlined in its successful application, ensuring that people in crisis receive timely and appropriate support.

Chris said: "No one should have to face a crisis alone.

"This funding will help us continue working alongside local people, providing compassionate support and practical solutions that make a real difference to lives across Hyndburn."

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is designed to help organisations prevent hardship from escalating by delivering essential frontline services.

Community Solutions North West said the funding reaffirms its commitment to supporting some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents and ensuring that help is available before situations reach breaking point.
