Charity in Bamber Bridge to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society

The Bamber Bridge Memory Walk, organised by Bamber Bridge Women's Shed, will take place on September 20 at Withy Grove Park, aiming to raise £175.

Participants are encouraged to gather at the Withy Grove Close car park at 9.45am for a 10am start.

The event is free to enter.

The walk is expected to last roughly 175 minutes, or just under three hours, covering an estimated nine laps of the park.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy the day, share experiences, and offer support to one another.

A spokesperson for the Women's Shed said: "It will take a society to beat dementia, so gather your people and come along to support us for as little or as long as you can manage."

The park route is accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs, but participants are advised to consider weather conditions, which may affect the route's suitability.

Suitable footwear is recommended due to the potential for weather-related changes.

The organisers have also advised participants to consider sustainable transport options or to car share where possible.

Withy Grove Close Car Park and the Leisure Centre Car Park are available for those travelling by car, while Stagecoach and Preston Bus serve the area for those opting for bus travel.

The area is also accessible via the train station.

Dogs are welcome on leads.

The Women's Shed is hoping that the funds raised will make a difference to people affected by dementia, both now and in the future.
