A man has admitted to a wounding offence but continued to deny attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a 17-year-old girl in Brierfield.
Juwaid Nawaz, 30, of Livingstone Walk, Brierfield, appeared before Preston Crown Court on Tuesday, September 9.
He is accused of attacking a 17-year-old girl in Wood Street, on June 12.
The incident left the teenager with a neck wound.
The defendant, who appeared over video link from HMP Manchester, wore a grey T-shirt and spoke only to enter his pleas.
Emma Kehoe, prosecuting, added a charge of section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to the indictment, which the defendant admitted.
Nawaz was also charged with possession of a bladed article, which he also admitted.

Psychiatric assessments had been carried out before the hearing, which concluded that the defendant was fit to enter his pleas and stand trial.
A mention hearing has been set for September 22, at which the prosecution will indicate whether it will accept the latest pleas.
If they don’t, the usual timetable will remain in place, with a pre-trial review on October 14 and a trial on November 30.
Nawaz was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
