A disqualified driver reached speeds of 90mph in 30mph zones as he tried to give police the slip.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Daniel Taylor repeatedly travelled on the wrong side of the road as he overtook other vehicles.
The pursuit ended when Taylor's vehicle collided with some bollards, at which point he got out of the still-moving vehicle and ran off.
Taylor, 21, of Water Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced, after District Judge Alexandra Preston ruled her sentencing powers were insufficient.
"You have pleaded guilty to yet another offence of dangerous driving," said District Judge Preston.
"You keep on doing it, and on this occasion you were subject to prison licence when you chose to get behind the wheel."
Elisa Kukla, prosecuting, said Taylor sped off from police, initially reaching speeds of 50mph in a 20mph built-up residential area.
Further into the chase, he reached 90mph, swerving in and out of traffic and overtaking on the wrong side of the road.
Miss Kukla said Taylor had previous convictions for dangerous driving in 2024 and in March of this year.
She said he had been recalled on prison licence until May 2027.
The offence for which he was sentenced in March occurred while Taylor was living in Scotland Bank Terrace in Blackburn.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, and failing to stop for police, in relation to an offence in November 2025, when he was driving a Kia Cee'd in Grimshaw Park.
For this, he was jailed for eight months and banned from driving for 12 months.
