A man has died after he was struck by a car in Burnley, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Centenary Way at 9.20pm on Tuesday, August 25, after reports that a white Volkswagen Golf had been involved in a crash with a pedestrian.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.
Police said his family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the VW Golf remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Sergeant Andrew Swindlehurst, of Lancashire Police's roads policing unit, said: “A man has very sadly died following this collision, and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
