AYNSLEY PEARS – 6
Made a good save in the first half to deny Donovan and couldn’t do much with either of the goals.
LUCAS HOUGHTON – 6
Handed an opportunity in the starting line-up and nearly had an assist. Wasn’t afraid to play in early crosses and ask questions of the opposition defence.
HAYDEN CARTER – 5
Would have been eager to impress on his first start of the season but will probably feel he could have done more with both of the goals.
SEAN McLOUGHLIN – 6
Won his fair share of headers and duels as usual, but the changes in the backline perhaps unsettled things a touch.
HARRY PICKERING – 6
Got 45 minutes under his belt before making way and looked tidy enough on the ball.
SAM MORSY – 6
Another player who departed at the break, but he’s already becoming a popular name among the supporters.
JAKE GARRETT – 6
A decent showing from the young midfielder, who showed some quality on the ball and tenacity off it.
JAYDEN FEVRIER – 6
Made his first start in blue and white and showed flashes of what he is capable of, driving with the ball at his feet, but couldn’t quite find the final pass or shot.
RYOYA MORISHITA – 7
Started in a more central role than the recent games but looks classy on the ball wherever he picks it up.
DION DE NEVE – 6
Made his return from injury with 45 minutes under his belt, and had a chance early on but couldn’t beat the keeper.
YUKI OHASHI – N/A
Unfortunate to pick up an injury so early in the game and hopefully it is nothing serious.
SUBSTITUTES
DAPO AFOLAYAN (Ohashi, 12’) – 7
Played more centrally after coming on as an early sub and produced a goal that Rovers will struggle to top all season.
TODD CANTWELL (De Neve, 46’) – 6
Helped Rovers be more positive going forward but missed a big chance after the equaliser when his touch let him down.
KRISTI MONTGOMERY (Morsy, 46’) – 6
Rarely gave the ball away but didn’t really have an opportunity to put his stamp on the game in the second half.
HARVEY PATES (Pickering, 46’) – 7
Got 45 minutes under his belt on his senior debut and gave a good account of himself in front of the Ewood Park faithful.
FRANK VARE (Fevrier, 72’) - 6
Completing the trio of Academy players who featured. Another positive night for the club on that front.
