A former Accrington Stanley footballer charged with attempted murder has appeared in court in Liverpool.
Patrick Lacey, known as Paddy Lacey during his time at the club, is one of four men charged following an incident in Huyton, Merseyside, in which a man was allegedly shot twice in the leg.
Lacey, 33, is also charged with possessing a shotgun and ammunition with intent to endanger life, section 18 GBH, and conspiracy to cause section 18 GBH.
Lacey appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday (August 24) with his co-defendants for a pre-trial review.
Court staff said Lacey, of Manor Avenue, Crosby, is yet to enter any pleas.
John Jones, 35, of Allerton, denied the offences at a hearing in April. John Hughes, 31, of no fixed address, and Bernard Flynn, 61, of Bootle, denied them at a hearing in March.
A trial date has been set for October 5, while a further pre-trial review will take place on September 28.
Merseyside Police previously said they received reports a man had been shot on the driveway of an address in Radway Road shortly before 10.20pm on November 28.

A man in his 20s was said to have been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
Lacey made 11 appearances for Stanley in the 2016/17 season, making his debut in the EFL Cup against Burnley.
His last spell was with Flint Town United in the Cymru Premier, and he also featured for Chester, Barrow, Warrington Rylands, and Altrincham.
He came through the academies of Liverpool, Manchester United, Tranmere Rovers, and Sheffield Wednesday.
