An energy solutions company has been named a 'Great Place to Work'.

Vital Energi, based in Blackburn, received the certification after an independent employee survey conducted by Great Place to Work, with more than 90 per cent of staff taking part.

The company, which now employs more than 860 people across the UK, said the results show its commitment to maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Ella Stokes, people and HR director at Vital Energi, said: "Growing from a handful of people to almost 900, spread across offices and sites the length of the country, could easily have diluted what made us who we are.

"What’s kept us grounded is our people, their creativity, and the way they collaborate to get complex projects delivered, wherever they’re based.

"This certification is proof of that, not because we say so, but because almost everyone who works here took the time to tell us.

"We’re proud of that, and we’ll keep listening as we continue to grow."

The company’s group turnover has risen from £209 million in 2022 to £275 million in 2025, driven by growth in renewable energy generation, infrastructure, and asset ownership projects.

Nearly 80 per cent of employees reported a strong sense of loyalty to the business, and 87 per cent expressed confidence in the leadership team.

As a Gold Member of the 5% Club, more than 12 per cent of its workforce are apprentices, graduates, or trainees.

This figure is expected to rise to nearly 14 per cent after the September 2026 intake.

The company supports employee development through structured learning pathways and its in-house Training Academy.

Vital Energi delivers projects across the UK from offices in Blackburn, Glasgow, London, Swansea, Hereford, and Burton-on-Trent.
