'World-class' music is set to return to Parbold this autumn.
Parbold Douglas Music has announced its 2026/27 concert season, featuring international artists performing in Parbold Village Hall.
The season begins on Saturday, September 19, with the London Tango Quintet, joined by renowned guitarist Craig Ogden, for a night of film-inspired tango music.
A spokesperson said: "Parbold Douglas Music is a charity run on a not-for-profit basis, by a team of volunteers drawn from the local community.
"Founded in 1973, the live performances are unique in the North-West for the opportunity for audiences to get thrillingly close to world-class musicians."
Violinist Alena Baeva, fresh from a standout performance at the BBC Proms, will take the stage on Saturday, October 10, accompanied by pianist Joseph Havlat.
The line-up also showcases some of the world’s most celebrated pianists, including Paul Lewis, Noriko Ogawa, Peter Donohoe, Martin Roscoe, and French virtuoso Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.
The Victoria String Quintet will perform in January 2027, followed in March by violinist Harriet Mackenzie and the Celoniatus Ensemble.
Their programme will feature Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
In April, the Aquinas Piano Trio will present a selection of music for piano, violin, and cello.
The concert series is supported by the Evans Family Foundation in recognition of Maria B Evans Estate Agents Ltd and the work of Parbold Douglas Music in the community.
