Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a man they want to speak to as part of an ongoing rape investigation in Blackpool.

Lancashire Police said they need to trace Benjamin Harker, 32, following a report that a woman was raped in the Spencer Court area.

The force said it received the report on July 3 and that enquiries remain ongoing.

Harker is described as being 5ft 10in tall with short brown hair and green eyes.

Police said he has a tattoo on his chest, a scar on the back of his head, and a birthmark on his shoulder.

Officers are also appealing for witnesses, information, and footage that could assist their investigation.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Spencer Court area around midnight.

Lancashire Police said a dedicated team of officers is investigating the report and uniformed patrols are taking place in the area.

Anyone who sees Harker is asked not to approach him but instead to call 999 immediately.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to call 101 quoting log 0113 of July 3.
