Blackburn Rovers have revealed they will play Blackpool in a behind-closed-doors game today.

The two Lancashire rivals will play at an undisclosed location on July 29, as they prepare for the new season. It is Rovers' penultimate pre-season friendly, with a trip to Huddersfield Town following on Saturday.

New signing Jayden Fevrier could feature, though it wouldn't be a surprise if this game came too soon for him. The 23-year-old signed a permanent deal with Rovers on Tuesday, becoming their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Having played two games last week in the Portuguese sun, this will be another test of Rovers' fitness. It is also a chance for Tony Mowbray to start putting together his best side with competitive games looming.

Blackpool lost their most recent friendly against Barrow at the weekend. The National League side won  2-0 at Holker Street, in a surprising reverse.
