A road will be closed for nearly three weeks to allow new service connection works to be carried out.

School Lane in Brinscall will be shut to through traffic from Lodge Bank to Dick Lane from August 3 to August 21.

The closure, announced by Lancashire County Council, is to allow new service connection works to take place.

A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: "The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new service connection works to be carried out."

A diversion route will be in place: School Lane, Buckholes Lane, Bett Lane, A674 Blackburn Road, A674 Chorley Road, Bury Lane,  Railway Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
