The A56 northbound at Rising Bridge remains closed after a single-vehicle crash this morning.

Lancashire Police have confirmed they were called to a crash on the northbound carriageway just after 5.30am this morning (July 26).

They said a car crashed into the central reservation, but there were no injuries.

National Highways warned this morning that the northbound carriageway between Rising Bridge and Huncoat was closed while emergency barrier repairs took place.

Lane 2 of the southbound carriageway is also closed.

Diversions are in place while the work is undertaken.
