Have you heard about the Lake District supermarket car park said to have ‘the finest view in England’? It turns out it’s real.

Shared on X, formerly Twitter, one user asked: "Is there a supermarket car park in England with a finer view than @BoothsCountry in Keswick?"

The market town in northwest England’s Lake District National Park is surrounded by mountains including Skiddaw.

Nearby, Castlerigg Stone Circle sits on a hilltop east of town, dating back to the Neolithic era, while vast Derwent Water lies to the south.

So it's no surprise it could also lay claim to 'no finer view' for a supermarket.

The post then received hundreds of responses praising the view.

One said: "Omg, I stopped by there once in 2012 and I still think about that view sometimes!

"I had forgotten where exactly it was. Thank you!"

Another wrote: "When we were there last April, not only did we enjoy this view but we were lucky enough to watch the fast jets doing loops overhead !"

Someone else replied: "Omg...I can't wait to get back here in May.

"Booths Keswick is the best supermarket in the world imho".

Whilst another simply said: "Nope. It’s the best."

The tourism hotspot was once rated the most stylish place to live in Cumbria by the online store Furniturebox.

A Furniturebox spokesperson said: “Keswick is the most stylish place to live.

“All 60 places on the list would have been worthy winners and show why the UK is such a stylish country, loved by artists, filmmakers and tourists worldwide."

And it wasn't the only showing from Cumbria. In second place was Grasmere, Hawkshead was third, Cartmel was fourth, and Coniston was fifth.

Locations were ranked according to the beauty of the buildings, the stunning scenery, how ‘Instagrammable’ the best features were, and their popularity as a filming location.
