Search the Public Notice PortalNew parking and loading restrictions are set to be introduced on several streets in Nelson.
After being approved by Lancashire County Council on July 10, the regulations will affect Holme Street, Brook Street and Netherfield Road.
The restrictions form part of the Lancashire County Council (Holme Street, Nelson, Pendle Area) (Revocation, Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) Order 2026.
Affected sections of the roads include:
- On Brook Street, there will be a prohibition of waiting on both the north east and south west sides, each for lengths of 29 metres and 37.5 metres respectively, all continuing from the centreline of Netherfield Road in a south east direction.
- On Holme Street, a prohibition of waiting will be introduced on the north east side between the centreline of Leeds Road and the centreline junction with Sagar Street.
- On the south west side of Holme Street, the restriction will apply from the centreline of Broadway to the centreline junction with New Scotland Road.
- A prohibition of waiting will also be implemented on both sides of Netherfield Road, from the roundabout junction with Sagar Street heading north east to a point 27 metres beyond the junction with the centreline of Brook Street.
- Holme Street will also see a prohibition of loading and unloading on the same sections as the waiting restrictions.
- Additionally, there will be a restriction of waiting from Monday to Saturday, between 8am and 6pm, on two stretches of Brook Street.
The first stretch is on the north east side from a point 44.5 metres south east of the junction with the centreline of Netherfield Road, to the junction with the centreline of Chapel House Road.
The second is on the south west side, from a point 51.5 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Netherfield Road, continuing for a distance of 149 metres in a south easterly direction.

The Order will come into force on July 27.
