Lancashire County Council has been ranked the top-performing local authority in a national apprenticeship league table.
The council secured 38th place on the Top Apprenticeship Employers 2026 list, which highlights organisations offering outstanding apprenticeship programmes.
Published by the UK Government and careers platform HIGHERiN, the list recognises employers across all sectors, with Lancashire County Council placing highest among local authorities.
County Councillor Matthew Salter, cabinet member for education and skills, said: "It is great to be recognised as the highest-ranked council for apprenticeships – this is something we can all be proud of.
"Congratulations to all of our apprentices, thank you for the invaluable contribution you make to delivering services in Lancashire.
"I'd also like to thank our People Services' apprenticeship team for their hard work and dedication in supporting apprentices, managers and services across LCC.
"This prestigious ranking demonstrates we are an employer of choice for apprentices."
Lancashire County Council offers apprenticeship opportunities across social work, occupational therapy, and a range of other sectors.

Jenna Jackson, currently completing a social work apprenticeship with the council, said: "This is the only way that I would ever be able to complete a degree.
"Doing it while working is perfect, and I feel like I'm hitting the ground running with the experience I already have."
Occupational therapist apprentice Claire Graves shared her experience working with older residents aged in their nineties.
She said: "That was really rewarding.
"It is really satisfying when you make a big difference to someone's life."
