Burscough Bridge Post Office is set to close later this month, with a number of outreach services across Lancashire and beyond also affected.
Post Office Ltd has confirmed that the branch in Liverpool Road North, Burscough Bridge, Ormskirk, will close on Wednesday, July 22, at 5.30pm due to "operational reasons".
The closure will also lead to the suspension of 11 outreach services operated by the Burscough Bridge postmaster.
These services, in Rufford, Bescar Lane, Banks, Haskayne, Orrell, Longshaw, Moss Side, Hollinfare, Belmont, Salesbury, and Trawden, will close during the week commencing July 20.
In a letter to customers, Post Office Ltd said it would continue efforts to restore services in the area and is seeking potential retail partners to run a replacement branch.
The letter states: "The provision of a Post Office service to our customers in the local community is important to us, and we will continue to work hard to restore services in the area as soon as possible."
Customers are being directed to alternative branches, including Burscough Town Post Office on Square Lane and Newburgh Post Office on Course Lane, both of which offer similar services.

The closure is expected to impact residents across parts of West Lancashire as well as communities in Greater Manchester and East Lancashire, which rely on the outreach network.
Post Office Ltd said posters would be displayed in affected branches to inform customers of the changes and that local representatives have been encouraged to share details with residents and community groups.
The organisation has invited anybody interested in operating a new branch locally to apply through its recruitment website, adding that any future changes to service provision would be handled under its Principles of Community Engagement.
The Burscough Bridge branch will remain open until 5.30pm on July 22 before closing.
