What is the Public Notice Portal?

A road will be closed for more than three weeks.

Jacksons Banks Road, Balderstone, will be shut from July 20 to August 14 as work is carried out to replace water mains and address existing defects.

The closure will affect the stretch between Commons Lane and Bezza Lane.

Traffic will be diverted along Commons Lane, Higher Commons Lane, Whalley Road, Mellor Brow, Myerscough Smithy Road, part of the A59, Woods Brow and back onto Jacksons Banks Road.

The order states that access for emergency services will be maintained at all times, and residents will be able to access their properties whenever possible.

Pedestrian access will also be maintained throughout the work.

Lancashire County Council said the road will reopen to through traffic on August 14, though it may open sooner if the work is completed ahead of schedule.
