Blackburn Rovers have rejected several six-figure bids for Connor O'Riordan, with the possibility of an exit growing this summer.
Lancashire Telegraph understands the 22-year-old has been the subject of offers from clubs in Poland and the Netherlands, as well as a club in England.
Several League One sides are also said to be tracking O'Riordan, who impressed on loan at Doncaster Rovers.
Rovers are open to selling the former Crewe Alexandra talent but want to at least recoup the 500K fee they paid for him two and a half years ago.
There is an acceptance from all parties that O'Riordan is at the age where he needs regular football. Given the amount of competition at centre-back, and with Tony Mowbray favouring a back four, a summer switch might be the best for all parties.
Mowbray is understood to be open to keeping O'Riordan but Rovers will not stand in his way if the right offer arrives for all parties. It feels likely, at this point, that he will move on this summer in search of regular game time.
O'Riordan's time at Ewood Park has been rocky. Having arrived from Crewe in January 2024, he played very little football as Rovers fought relegation.
John Eustace loaned him to Cambridge United the following summer but he barely featured. He was recalled in January and then rediscovered some form back at Crewe, where he admitted his love for football had returned after a difficult year.
O'Riordan then went to Doncaster for the first half of 2025/26 and impressed in League One. He was a regular for Grant McCann's side but Rovers recalled him given their problems in central defence.
He featured six times for Rovers and started three times but all of those were in January. From then on, he was cover on the bench before picking up an injury that ended his season.
There was talk of a new contract for O'Riordan in January upon his return but a decision was delayed until the summer. The 22-year-old is keen to play regularly and if that opportunity doesn't lie at Ewood Park, a deal may be struck for him to continue elsewhere.
Nothing is said to be advanced at this stage, with his future very much still to be decided. O'Riordan missed the game against Accrington Stanley as a result of the virus that ruled several first-team players out.
In terms of incomings, it remains quiet. It's understood Rovers remain interested in Daniel Jebbison despite Mowbray playing down the link when asked by Lancashire Telegraph.
It was reported that Bournemouth would be willing to sanction the deal after signing a replacement. Alvaro Rodriguez signed earlier this week but Rovers are still waiting for the green light.
