Lancashire County Council said work is set to be carried out on a road in Oswaldtwistle after a resident raised concerns about it "collapsing" and damaging vehicles.
The road is at the junction of New Lane and Union Road, where the road surface has deteriorated.
Pictures show a "dip" in the road, and there are reports of cars "bottoming out", meaning the bottom of the car hits the ground.
One resident said: "I have become aware of a section of road at the junction of New Lane and Union Road in Oswaldtwistle in Accrington that is getting deeper day by day and has now reached the point where cars are bottoming out in the depression of a collapsing road."

The resident warned that the surface was causing vehicles to cross onto the opposite side of the road to avoid the "severe jolt."
County Councillor Warren Goldsworthy, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "Our team has made the area at the junction of New Lane and Union Road in Oswaldtwistle safe.
"Resurfacing work is scheduled to take place in the next few days."
