If you are heading to Lytham Green on Sunday evening and notice an unusually high number of bald heads in the crowd, do not be alarmed.

It is Pitbull night — and the bald caps are coming.

The American rapper and Miami-born global superstar headlines the final night of Lytham Festival 2026 on Sunday 5 July, closing the five-night 15th anniversary celebration on the Lancashire coast.

And if the scenes from previous Pitbull concerts are anything to go by, the crowds on Lytham Green will look distinctly different to your average night out in the Fylde.

The look that took over the internet

For the uninitiated, there is a growing trend among Pitbull fans — women in particular — of arriving at his concerts dressed as the man himself.

That means a bald cap, a pair of dark aviator sunglasses and, if you are going all in, a sharp suit or a simple white shirt.

The look has been spreading across social media ahead of Sunday's headline set and the organisers of Pitbull's concerts have become well used to a sea of shiny heads staring back from the crowd.

Lucy Irving is one fan who attended a recent Pitbull concert in Glasgow and adopted the custom.

"I think everyone is dressing up as him because his look is just so instantly recognisable and also easy to pull off," she said.

"Pitbull just emanates fun and good vibes and not taking yourself too seriously — so dressing up in a very simple but iconic Pitbull look just adds to the whole experience."

Why women in particular have embraced it

The trend has taken on a life of its own among female fans, and the reasons are not hard to fathom.

"It's just become part of the whole concert experience and you would feel kind of left out if you didn't get involved," the fan said.

"There are very few occasions you can wear a bald cap as a woman.

"Mr Worldwide also loves the fact everyone dresses as him, which adds to the attraction to do it.

"It's just so easy to pull off and getting to channel Pitbull's energy is just absolutely hilarious.

"I felt really quite liberated in my bald cap and aviators."

The internet has been awash with images from his recent tour dates showing entire sections of the crowd decked out in bald caps and sunglasses — a tribute act on an enormous, joyful scale.

What to expect on Sunday night

For anyone with a ticket who is wondering what they are in for, the verdict from those who have already seen the show is emphatic.

"It was an unbelievable concert — one of the most feel-good, energetic concerts ever," said Lucy.

"Despite the fact it literally poured with rain and everyone was utterly drenched, the vibes were just immaculate.

"Everyone was just having so much fun, leaving all their inhibitions behind, singing, dancing and shouting 'Dale' (meaning 'go ahead' in Spanish) at every opportunity.

"Nobody cared what they looked like and were just having the absolute time of their lives."

As for what fans can expect on Sunday?

"A fun, party atmosphere, tune after tune — and many bald caps."

Pitbull will be joined on Sunday by rapper and record producer Lil Jon and DJ Laz.

Doors open at 5pm, with the headline set expected to close around 10.30pm.

The set list to know

If you want to brush up before Sunday, there is one song above all others to get acquainted with.

"That's a tough one but it has got to be Fireball," said Lucy.

"It's an absolute classic and the energy from the crowd when he performed that was amazing — one I won't forget.

"It just captures everything people love about Pitbull and was unreal to hear live."

Pitbull will also be making history on Lytham Green on Sunday — he becomes the first ever rap artist to headline the festival in its 15-year history.

As for how many bald caps will be spotted on Sunday night based on her experience in Glasgow? "Defo thousands. It was awash with baldies."

Consider yourself warned — and perhaps consider packing a bald cap.

Lytham Festival 2026 runs until Sunday 5 July on Lytham Green. Tickets for Sunday's Pitbull headline show are still available at lythamfestival.com.
