Firefighters remain at the scene of a major commercial building fire in Bickerstaffe, West Lancashire, this morning.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Rainford Road shortly after 6.15am on Tuesday, June 30, following reports of a fire involving commercial premises.

Six fire engines, alongside a command unit, water tower, and drone, were mobilised to the incident at 6.16am.

The fire service said the blaze involves four single-storey units.

Crews are using six breathing apparatus, a water tower, and multiple jets to tackle the fire.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 06.16 on 30 June 2026, six fire engines, the command unit, a water tower, and the drone attended a commercial building fire on Rainford Road, Bickerstaffe, Ormskirk.

"The fire involves four single-storey units.

"Crews are using six breathing apparatus, the water tower, and jets to tackle the fire.

"Firefighters remain in attendance."

No information has yet been released regarding any injuries or the cause of the fire.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident.
