Fylde Council and operator Places Leisure announced the extended closure following further investigations into the building, which uncovered the need for additional work.
The site had originally been expected to reopen after an eight to 12-week shutdown, but that timeline has now been scrapped.

More work needed
In a statement, Places Leisure said the decision followed more detailed surveys carried out during the initial repair period.
"Following further detailed surveys carried out during this time, we have taken the decision to extend the closure to enable us to make the appropriate investments to ensure the building can fully operate."
During the initial closure, a full replacement and refurbishment of the pool plant and systems was completed, with further essential work now planned before reopening.
The organisation apologised to customers, adding: "We appreciate that this is disappointing for users and we thank the community for their patience and continued support."
Customers have been told their memberships will remain frozen while the facility remains shut.
Rising frustration from residents
The delay has sparked anger online, particularly as hot weather drives demand for outdoor and indoor swimming.
One resident said: "This is absolutely shocking, people need to lose their jobs over this."
Another added: "If it was apparent that the original work was going to take longer than planned, you should have made an announcement earlier, calling it out."
Others criticised the lack of a clear reopening date, with one comment reading: "Yes okay, it was inevitable that the work would take longer, but surely after you have carried out 'detailed surveys', you must now be in a position to provide an updated timescale."
Investment and future plans
The closure comes as part of wider investment in the site.
Fylde Council has committed at least £1.9 million to essential works, with the total potentially rising following a financial review.
The pool has already received around £300,000 in Sport England funding, which has been used to install energy-efficient boilers and solar panels.
Council leaders say the upgrades are designed to reduce costs, cut carbon emissions and secure the long-term future of the facility.

Plans are also being developed for additional features including a gym, health suite, indoor splash pad and café, although details are yet to be finalised.
What happens next
Fylde Council and Places Leisure say they are continuing to work together to determine the next steps, with a further update expected next month.
An update on the future of Kirkham Baths is also due to be announced soon.
