Residents and visitors across Blackpool and beyond are being invited to celebrate Indian culture at a free community festival taking place on the town’s seafront next month.

The Fylde Coast Hindu Society will host its Indian Cultural Festival on Sunday, July 5, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm at the Tower Festival Headland Promenade.

The family-friendly event aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Indian traditions while bringing people together from across the Fylde Coast.

A packed programme of entertainment and activities has been lined up for the afternoon, including Bollywood and Nepali dance performances, live music, and traditional dhol drumming.

Visitors will also have the chance to try henna art, dress in traditional Indian clothing, and sample authentic food and refreshments.

Organisers say the festival is open to people of all ages and backgrounds, offering a chance for the wider community to experience Indian culture in the heart of Blackpool.

Chirag Khajuria, chairman of the Fylde Coast Hindu Society, said: "We warmly invite residents from across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast to join us for this free community celebration.

"The festival offers a wonderful opportunity to experience and learn about Indian culture, enjoy traditional performances, food, and activities, and come together in the spirit of friendship, diversity, and community.

"We look forward to welcoming everyone to celebrate with us."

The event forms part of the society’s ongoing work to promote cultural awareness, community cohesion, and engagement between people from different backgrounds.

Members of the public can attend free of charge, and organisers have also extended an invitation to local media to cover the event, with opportunities for photography and interviews with performers, volunteers, and community representatives.
