Melba Swintex to open new Lancashire distribution hub in Rossendale

Melba Swintex, a manufacturer of temporary traffic management products, will officially open the 52,742 sq ft hub at Ewood Bridge in Rossendale on August 1, this year.

The facility marks a major investment in the company’s long-term growth and its commitment to the region.

The new site is designed to meet rising demand, improve operational efficiency, and support the company’s expansion plans in the UK and overseas.

Plans for the hub were first revealed in 2024.

It will help streamline operations, reduce lead times, and offer improved support to customers.

The project also reflects Melba Swintex’s focus on sustainability, with the company continuing to invest in carbon offset projects and renewable energy schemes in the UK and abroad.

Founded in 1982, the company has manufacturing roots in Lancashire.

It is now one of the UK’s leading producers and exporters of temporary traffic management solutions.

More than 90 per cent of its products are made from recycled materials.

The Ewood Bridge facility will support further growth while reinforcing the company’s Lancashire heritage as a third-generation family business.

Melba Swintex was formed through the merger of Melba and Swintex in 2007.

An official opening ceremony will be held to celebrate the opening.
