A power cut affected shops and restaurants at an M6 motorway service station today (May 27).

Charnock Richard Services, operated by Welcome Break and located between junctions 27 and 28 of the motorway, was affected by the power outage today, a spokesperson confirmed.

The power cut affected its restaurants. At the time of writing, a spokesperson confirmed that all sites have since resumed operation apart from at KFC.

The outage led to the closure of restaurants inside the service station, with travellers taking to social media to share updates on the disruption.

One user said: "Charnock Richard services food places inside are all shut because of a power cut."

Food outlets at the site include Burger King, Starbucks, Subway, Taco Bell, Chopstix, and Krispy Kreme.
