With just three days left to enter, a high-profile Omaze prize draw offering a £3.4 million home in Cornwall is also helping drive forward one of the North West’s most anticipated regeneration projects.
Online entries for the Omaze Million Pound House Draw close on Sunday, May 31, with organisers confirming a guaranteed £1 million donation will go towards supporting Eden Project Morecambe.
While one winner will secure the luxury coastal home along with £250,000 in cash, the wider impact is set to be felt much closer to home, with the funding helping bring the landmark Morecambe project a step closer to opening in 2028.

The Eden Project team say the donation will support the next phase of development for the scheme on Morecambe’s seafront — a major new visitor destination focused on nature, education and wellbeing.
Plans for Eden Project Morecambe were approved earlier this year, with partners including Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council and Lancaster University working alongside the charity to deliver the project.
The development is expected to create hundreds of jobs during both construction and operation, as well as boost tourism and support local businesses across Lancashire and Cumbria.
At the heart of the plans are two striking shell-inspired structures, known as the Realm of the Sun and the Realm of the Moon, designed to reflect the landscape and tidal nature of Morecambe Bay.

The project builds on the success of the original Eden Project in Cornwall, which opened in 2001 and has since become a major visitor attraction and education centre.
Over the past 25 years, Eden Cornwall has welcomed more than 25 million visitors and contributed £6.8 billion to the regional economy, while supporting hundreds of jobs and delivering large-scale education programmes.
Andy Jasper, chief executive of the Eden Project, said the Morecambe development is rooted in lessons learned from Cornwall.
He said: "Eden Project Morecambe is built on everything we’ve learned over the past 25 years.

"That experience shows that sustained investment in nature, skills and education can deliver lasting benefits for people and places.
"The guaranteed £1 million raised through this partnership provides important momentum as we move forward."
Organisers say the funding will contribute to a long-term model combining public investment, partnerships and charitable support — similar to the approach used in Cornwall.
The draw itself offers entrants the chance to win a multi-million-pound property, but Omaze has emphasised the importance of the charitable impact behind the campaign.
The company has raised more than £100 million for good causes across the UK to date.

Founder and chief executive Matt Pohlson said the Morecambe project highlights how the initiative can support major social and environmental schemes.
He said: "This draw gives people the chance to win a remarkable prize while also supporting a project with clear social, environmental and economic value.
"Eden Project Morecambe builds on a track record that shows what’s possible when communities, education and nature come together."
The new scheme is expected to play a significant role in the long-term regeneration of Morecambe, helping to attract year-round visitors and strengthen the town’s cultural offer alongside landmarks such as the Midland Hotel and Winter Gardens.

Beyond economic benefits, the project also aims to improve health and wellbeing by encouraging greater access to nature, an area increasingly recognised for its importance in tackling inequalities.
Research suggests spending as little as two hours a week in natural environments can have measurable benefits, a principle that sits at the core of Eden’s mission.
Recent funding announcements have also seen millions committed to wider nature-based programmes across the UK, including initiatives set to be rolled out in Morecambe.
