Seven Burnley College students achieved podium finishes in this year's SkillBuild regional qualifiers.

The students triumphed during the competition, which is the UK’s largest multi-trade contest for construction trainees and apprentices.

They earned a mix of first, second, and third-place finishes across a range of specialist categories.

Burnley College hosted the event and challenged apprentices to complete a six-hour industry-specific project under the scrutiny of judges.

Ava Maiden took first place in furniture and cabinet making, with Patrick Bishop in second and Obie White in third.

Murphy Tracey secured second in bricklaying, while Edward Price and Harley Rawstron took second and third in carpentry.

Isaac Kenworthy placed third in joinery.

Other categories included painting and decorating, plastering, and wall and floor tiling.

A spokesperson for Burnley College said: "A huge congratulations to all the award-winning students."

Once the qualifiers have finished, the marks are collated, and the eight highest-scoring competitors in each specialist skill go through to the next round, the SkillBuild National Final later in the year.

Supporters can follow their progress and relive the action using #SkillBuild2026 on social media, as well as through the @burnleycollege and @goconstructuk accounts.
