A man who died in a late-night car crash in Haslingden has been named locally.

Tributes have been paid to 'Hishaam', thought to be the driver of the VW Golf that crashed on Helmshore Road, Haslingden, just before midnight on May 4.

Tributes have been left online, including such as: "Rest in peace Hishaam and Vic" and "Rest in peace, Hishaam".

According to police, a vehicle left the road, struck the side of a house, and then hit a retaining wall. A man in his 20s died in hospital the following morning.

18-year-old Victoria Niebylska, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died on Tuesday night, according to police.

Another 18-year-old passenger remains in hospital.

Since the crash, floral tributes, teddy bears, and handwritten notes have been left at the scene.

Victoria has been remembered by friends and family as a kind, joyful, and brave young woman. A GoFundMe has been set up in her name to pay for a memorial bench at a cemetery.
