More flowers, notes and tributes have been left at the scene of a tragic crash in Haslingden that has claimed the lives of two young people.
An 18-year-old woman and a man in his 20s died following a collision involving a VW Golf just before midnight on May 4, on Helmshore Road.
Among the debris are notes, flowers and teddy bears which have been left in tribute to the victims, who have not yet been named.
One note at the site read: "You will never be forgotten. Thank you for always making my life so bright."
Councillor Alyson Barnes, leader of Rossendale Council, said: "It is an absolute tragedy that two young people have lost their lives.
"Our thoughts are with the families involved."
Lancashire Police officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and are appealing for information.
Alyson said: "We get a lot of concern from residents about road safety.
"Our MP, Andy MacNae, has started a road safety campaign off the back of those concerns.
"I don’t know what happened [to cause this crash] but road safety is a big issue in the borough."
Helmshore councillors Cllr Alan Woods and Cllr Ann Hodgkiss said: "Words fail to describe the pain that must be felt by the families affected by the crash on Helmshore Road.
"We commend the residents who assisted at the scene and hope they are ok.
"Following even more devastating news this morning, we keep them all in our thoughts and prayers."
Police say a VW Golf was travelling south when it left the road, striking the side of a house before hitting a retaining wall.
The driver, a man in his 20s, died in hospital on Tuesday morning (May 5).
An 18-year-old woman, a passenger in the vehicle, died later that night.
A second passenger, also 18, remains in hospital.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We have another sad update to bring you after a car was in collision with the side of a house and wall in Haslingden.
"Yesterday we told you that the emergency services were called at 11.49pm on Monday night to Helmshore Road at the junction with Dean Road, to a report of a collision.
"A VW Golf which had been travelling south on Helmshore Road had left the carriageway and struck the side of a house and then a retaining wall.
"The driver of the Golf, a man in his 20s, was sadly pronounced deceased at hospital on Tuesday morning.
"Two teenage girls, who were passengers in the car, both suffered severe injuries and were taken to hospital.

"Very sadly, one of the girls – who is 18 – passed away in hospital on Tuesday night.
"Our thoughts are very much with her family and loved ones at this sad and distressing time.
"They are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers."
