A man in his 80s is in a ‘serious condition’ in hospital after suffering stab wounds in an attack in Padiham.
Lancashire Constabulary officers were called at 8am today, May 3, to reports of an assault at an address in Wordsworth Avenue.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 80s was taken to hospital with a number of stab wounds.
He is in serious condition.
A 22-year-old man from Padiham, who is known to the victim, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of attempted murder.
An investigation is under way and police are making enquiries.
