Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

BALAZS TOTH - 8

Made a phenomenal reflex save to keep out Heggebo from close range. As good as scoring a goal.

RYAN ALEBIOSU - 6

Looked tired with a couple of wayward touches. Understandable given the schedule.

TOM ATCHESON - 7

Adapted well to a back four in the second half. A big ask for a young player but he coped well.

SCOTT WHARTON - 6

It was a big boost to have him available but he lasted 45 minutes. Taken off after a booking and probably with a concern over his fitness.

SEAN MCLOUGHLIN - 7

Didn't put a foot wrong against either of West Brom's number nines.

HARRY PICKERING - 6

Another who was carded in the opening 45 minutes and so O'Neill made the call to replace him.

ADAM FORSHAW - 7

Played a few decent passes from deep but wasn't as heavily involved as recent games.

MOUSSA BARADJI - 7

Another good performance. Has looked more mobile in the last two, winning more tackles.

RYOYA MORISHITA - 7

Looked the most likely to create a big chance in the second half. It just wouldn't quite fall for a team-mate.

TODD CANTWELL - 6

Set-pieces were again poor. Worked hard and had some nice touches but didn't happen for him.

YUKI OHASHI - 6

Ran himself into the ground again but didn't have any real chances at goal.

SUBSTITUTES:

YURI RIBEIRO (PICKERING, 45') - 6

Decent energy down the left after coming on. Didn't have many issues defensively.

MATHIAS JORGENSEN (WHARTON 45') - 6

Got into some good positions but final action wasn't right. Appeared to duck under a Morishita cross which was odd.

DAPO AFOLAYAN (CANTWELL, 75') - 6

On as a late change on the left.

UNUSED SUBSTITUTES: Michalski, Montgomery, Tavares, Gardner-Hickman, De Neve, Redmond.
