A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a suspected stolen BMW failed to stop for police during an early-hours pursuit in Huncoat.

Specialist Operations officers from Lancashire Police were alerted after roads policing team officers spotted the silver BMW on Burnley Road at about 1.25am on Sunday, March 15.

Police said the driver had already failed to stop for Burnley and Padiham officers.

The vehicle again made off, but came to a halt following a short pursuit.

The teenager behind the wheel was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving without insurance or a licence.

Police are urging anyone who sees or suspects suspicious activity in their area to report it online via their reporting pages or by calling 101.
