A motorist has been arrested after a police pursuit that began in Staffordshire continued through Cheshire and Greater Manchester before ending in Lancashire.
In a post published on X this morning, Staffordshire Police said the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop for officers on the A500, sparking a pursuit that moved onto the M6 northbound.

With support from Cheshire Police, Greater Manchester Police, Lancashire Police, and the National Police Air Service (NPAS), officers were able to bring the chase to a safe conclusion.
The Corsa was stopped using stinger devices and boxed in by police vehicles.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, driving while disqualified, and dangerous driving.

The arrest of the 'Corsa man' for disqualified driving comes just days after Gary Broten, 57, of Kenilworth Avenue, Fleetwood, was charged with driving while disqualified.
He was remanded in custody and appeared before magistrates this week.
Work has been carried out to tackle dangerous driving in Lancashire, including in Blackburn, where officers from local neighbourhood and roads policing team carried out speed and traffic enforcement around the Green Lane area.
It came following multiple reports from members of the public about excess speed and anti-social driving.
Residents had raised concerns about dangerous driving in the area, which had led to crashes.
In a report from Fleetwood Police, nearly 40 per cent of vehicles checked on a Wyre street were found to be exceeding the speed limit.
A community road watch was carried out by police in Larkholme Parade, a residential street in the area.
