Brierfield's fourth annual Community Iftar brought nearly 300 people together to celebrate the "importance of community cohesion", share a meal, and support local charities.
Organised by Dockray Events & Management, the gathering brought together 290 attendees, with some travelling from Bolton, Manchester, and Liverpool to break fast.
Ali Ahmed, from Dockray Events & Management, said the evening featured contributions from community leaders and local services, including speeches by Imam Khalid Mehmood from Nelson Ghausia Masjid and Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

Representatives from Building Bridges Pendle, the mayors of Burnley and Pendle, Lancashire Fire’s East Division, local doctors, NHS staff, and other public organisations also took part in the iftar.
He explained the "importance of community cohesion and not letting far-right groups divide us" as he welcomed migrants into the area.
The iftar also included around 80 refugees supported by Burnley FC in the Community and 30 non-Muslim guests.
The efforts of women and young people from ethnic minority communities were also highlighted at the iftar, with speeches from Farah from BFC in the Community on women’s initiatives and Hamid Khan from Whitefield Youth Association on supporting local non-profit organisations through iftar ticket sales.
A total of £2,350 was raised for three charities.
- Burnley FC in the Community received £600.
- Hope For Mankind received £1,000
- Whitefield Youth Association received £750
Ali said: "Thank you to all our sponsors who did not hesitate to fund the Community Iftar."
