It's the time of the week when we shine a spotlight on the best pubs East Lancashire has to offer - and this week a Mellor boozer that offers one dish punters can’t get enough is our choice.
The Traders Arms, in Mellor Lane, is our Pub of the Week and we caught up with front of house manager Ashley Preston to ask him all about the venue.
Introduce yourself
My name is Ashley Preston and I have been here since the end of November.

What is it like working at the pub?
It is absolutely brilliant, the customers are amazing, the staff are fantastic and it is never the same day twice.
What makes the pub stand out from others in the area?
If it is anything it is our fantastic food. We do a lot of classics with a modern twist to them. One of the most popular dishes is our steak pie.
We are well known for it, people come back on a repeated basis for it.

What have you got on draught?
We do a wide range of lagers, ciders and cask ales. The most popular is the Fleets Original.
Do you host any events?
We do a quiz every Wednesday, and we have themed events on most months and we have just recently had a Mama Mia night which was a sell out event for us. It was a tribute to ABBA.

Do you have a beer garden?
We have a beer garden at the back of the venue and benches at the front as well. It is very popular in the summer and is a really big area.

What is the best thing about working in the pub?
For me it is the regulars and also the people you work for. The staff are a very close-knit group and they welcomed me with open arms and Linzi and Dale, the two owners are absolutely fantastic.
What is the best hangover cure?
I have to say it is our steak pie.
