A popular Blackpool bus fare is being scrapped next month as part of a major shake-up of ticket prices across the town's transport network.
From March 1, the £2.70 inner-zone single bus ticket will be withdrawn, meaning there will no longer be a cheaper option for shorter journeys across the town.
Passengers will instead pay a standard £3 adult single fare, which covers the entire network and remains in line with the government’s fare cap.
The changes form part of Blackpool Transport’s latest fare review, which includes the freeze of several of its most popular tickets for a third year running.
The cost of the adult day ticket will stay at £6.60, while under-16 single fares will rise slightly to £1.80.

James Clough, finance and commercial director at Blackpool Transport, said the review aimed to strike a balance between rising costs and maintaining value for money.
He said: “Due to rising operational costs, some fare increases are unavoidable, but we’ve developed a great range of ticket options that continue to deliver excellent value.
"Our new simplified fare structure will also make it easier for customers to find the best-priced ticket for their journey – whether they’re travelling by bus, tram or both.”
Among other updates being introduced next month is a new £3.50 ‘Hopper’ ticket, which replaces the one-hour interchange option for tram and bus travel.
The ticket will also be available to under-16s for £2, allowing passengers to switch between services within 60 minutes.
While there will be modest rises to season tickets and multi-trip bundles, the company says longer-term passes still offer savings for regular users.

A 30-day unlimited adult pass works out at around £2.74 a day, and group options such as the popular Family Saver remain part of the range.
Mr Clough added: “A decision to raise any ticket prices is never taken lightly but, as we are owned by the local authority rather than a private company, all revenue goes towards maintaining services and improving the network.”
The £10 Family Day Saver will continue at its current offer price until spring.
