The scores are in, the latest round of food hygiene ratings for restaurants, cafés, takeaways and other food businesses in Lancaster and Morecambe has been released.
Lancaster City Council’s environmental health officers have spent the past fortnight inspecting premises across the district to check they are complying with food hygiene laws.
Inspectors, working to Food Standards Agency guidelines, assess how clean the premises are, how safely food is handled and what food safety management systems are in place.
Each business is then given a rating from zero to five – with five being the top score.
